The Baltimore Grotto was founded in 1952 and is dedicated to the exploration, study and conservation of caves. We are the Baltimore, Maryland area chapter of the National Speleological Society. Our members come from all walks of life and engage in all aspects of caving, from ridgewalking to surveying to sport caving to speleopolitics. 		167

Commander Cody Caving Club is dedicated to the exploration, study and conservation of caves and has been serving the caving communities of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey since becoming the 235th charted Grotto of the National Speleological Society on April 4th, 1976 		138
3   Link   Potomac Speleological Club (PSC)
The Potomac Speleological Club, incorporated in the State of West Virginia as the Potomac Speleological Society, is dedicated to caving, conservation and the science of speleology. The PSC invites cavers (and potential cavers) from all parts to participate in the club's many ongoing caving projects and social events. We especially welcome those persons interested in wild caving for the first time. Sport caving is dangerous and should not be entered into without proper equipment and guidance. Ignorance of the cave environment and cave safety is the primary cause of most caving accidents. 		151

The Sligo Grotto is a local chapter of the National Speleological Society, with membership based in Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia and West Virginia. We are cavers from all walks of life dedicated to caves and caving. We are a very laid back Grotto that prefers parties to politics and music to motions. If you are like-minded, please join us!

5   Link   VPI Cave Club
We are an official student grotto (club) of the National Speleological Society (NSS). Our goal is to promote interest in and to advance the science of speleology, to promote conservation of caves and safety in their exploration, and to encourage fellowship among Virginia Tech students and alumni interested in caving. 		179

The purpose of the TRA Grotto is to organize and educate persons interested in karst and speleology of West Virginia, its surroundings and to better promote the objectives of the NSS. 		172
